On the 16th of August, ATU Local 689 showed up at Metro Center in Washington DC, the flagship subway station of the whole city. Local 689 was there to demand that WMATA's General Manager Paul Wiedefeld be fired for breaking his promise not to provide a special train or accomodations for white supremacists going to their "Unite the Right II" rally in DC. First he promised no special treatment, then he provided the neo-Nazis with a train just for themselves after their bus driver refused to show up.
Featured speaker in this video is from Black Lives Matter, speaking in solidarity with the transit union. Also featured is the union representative Paul Wiedefeld told there would be no special trains, calling him out for lying to her face.
